St Mary's Orthodox church, Las Vegas is an
extension of St. Thomas Valiyapally, Los Angeles. Our church belong to the
Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church (Indian Orthodox Church) and is one of the parishes under the South-West Diocese of America.
St mary's orthodox church of Las Vegas was founded in July 2007. Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Yohannan Panicker, a handful of Orthodox faithfuls living in/around Las Vegas launched an effort to have a chapel in Las Vegas. The Metropolitan of the South West American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius graciously blessed the request of the ten families, declared the St. Mary as an extension of St. Thomas Los Angeles under the South West American Diocese and appointed Rev.Fr. Yohannan Panicker as the Vicar of the Chapel. St. Mary's is an active extension unit in the diocese and participates in the diocesan, regional, and area level spiritual activities.
